Speed Search
The fastest way to get to an entry when you know its name is to use THINK
Reference's Speed Search feature.
To use Speed Search, just type the name of the entry that you're looking
for. What you type appears in the Speed Search field on the left side of the
Button Panel. As you type, THINK Reference highlights the first hyperlink that matches what you've typed so far. If THINK Reference can't find a
hyperlink on this page that matches what you've typed, it searches all its
databases for an entry that matches it. The name of the first entry it finds
you reach the entry that you want to see, press the Return key to get to the
its page. If you hear a beep, or if nothing appears in the Speed Search field
as you type, it means that there isn't an entry in any database that matches
what you've typed.
Suppose you're on a page with an list to all the functions in a database, but
you want to read an entry on a different topic: Finding Directories. As you
start typing “Find,”. THINK Reference finds the first hyperlink on the page
that matches what you've typed.
If you were looking for FindControl, you'd press Return now to go to its
entry. Since you're looking for Finding Directories, you continue typing
“ing.” THINK Reference cannot find any hyperlinks on this page that match.
It starts to search its databases for a topic that does match and finds
“Finding Directories.”
You press Return now to go to the entry.
If your search selects a hyperlink, you can use these special characters to
move around:
Key Action
Up Arrow Go up lines to a hyperlink.
Down Arrow Go down lines to a hyperlink
Right Arrow Go forward in the text to the next hyperlink
on the page.
Left Arrow Go backward in the text to the previous
hyperlink on the page.
